Monochromatic chic

LA NOTTE toque TOPSHOP blouse, jeans & shoes ZARA jacket PRADA purse

Today I had to run some errands and it was such a nice, sunny day that I could actually wear just a blouse under my leather jacket! No sweater or scarf needed, hurrah! I didn't spend too much time out so nothing fancy. I was feeling a monochrome vibe and went with that. Have a good weekend everybody!

  1. I am loving this plaid-leather combo, and the rips in the jeans are strategically placed perfectly. This goes without saying but the Prada bag is to die for. It's like the perfect shape with a big/small enough handle.

I also watched your two video posts, which I liked! My question for you is: how do you put together outfits? Do you just pick random things and throw them together? I do this sometimes and it works... sometimes haha.

Also, (if you do,) how do you categorize your inspiration? For me I like to use Pinterest and Tumblr, but I never seem to go back and look at the outfits I'm loving. Any ideas?

    1. Thanks! Yes, the Prada bag is my prized possession and it's so practical since it has 2 zippers in the front and back which you can kind of see in the photos. I can fit so much in there but the bag isn't even that big which is perfect.

Thank you so much! It means so much to me, I'm really glad you're liking my YouTube videos!! Stay tuned for more videos, I have lots of ideas so hopefully I'll have a new video uploaded within the next few weeks.

I as well sometimes just throw things together and hope for the best, but sometimes what I think is going to look good together in my head doesn't actually turn out looking good so I always have to try the clothes on just to be sure. This might sound obvious, but I think it's important to really know your clothes. So what I mean is you've got to be able to pick out pieces and say OK, these are my basics that I can pair with anything and then here are my more 'out-there' or 'risky' clothes. Once you understand your closet it becomes easier to put together outfits. I always tell my customers experiment and try things on! So if you come up with some crazy outfit idea, that you don't think is going to work, or you find a piece of clothing that you think you would never in a million years be able to pull off, just try it out! I've seriously surprised myself when I took a chance with my outfits, and the risks definitely paid off.

Otherwise, if I see an outfit I really like from a photograph online or Instagram I try to recreate that look with the clothes I have (of course I'm not completely copying the outfit, I'm putting my own style into the outfit). So a lot of my inspiration comes from other fashion bloggers. I also get sooo much inspiration from Tumblr. I kind of use it as my fashion diary and I'm constantly saving photos I like. I don't really categorize my inspirations either I just save them all on my phone, so I probably have hundreds of random photos just floating around in my album haha.

I realize that was a long response but I hope it answered all your questions :) xo
